3 Ghz Pentium 4 Processor - One of the fastest processors available on the market today. Used by many home users but also works very well in a server configuration and gives amazing performance.

2048Mb DDR RAM - This is the memory of the system where web pages and scripts are stored when being used. With a server, a large amount of memory is needed. This is why we have minimum of 2048Mb (2Gig) of RAM and also use DDR for maximum speed to make the system run as fast as possible.

Dual 120Gb 7200rpm Hard Disks - This gives the server maximum disk space and allows us to offer our users generous web space allowances. These fast drives also improve performance making the server run smoothly and your sites run as fast as possible.

Dual 100Mbit Network Cards - Having 2 network cards is a feature not seen on many servers, but is used by us to allow maximum data transfer in and out of the server for optimal performance.

The software a server runs is very important, all of our servers run on Redhat Linux which is an open source UNIX based operating system. It is considered the most reliable server operating system due to its high reliability, security and efficient use of system resources like memory and CPU power. It has many benefits over Windows systems which are resource hungry, unreliable and suffer from more security problems in comparison to Linux. Although our systems are UNIX based no knowledge of it is necessary as it is the same as using a Windows based server.

Apache - This is the web server program that runs on all of our servers, which delivers the web pages to the user’s browser. It is the worlds most popular and is used by 63% of web servers. This is down to its amazing performance and many features which make it the best in the world.

Sendmail - As the name suggests Sendmail is used on the server to deal with the sending of e-mail. Used by majority of mail servers around the world due its good features, security and performance.

ProFTPD - Chosen for its efficient coding which gives it excellent performance and many other features, ProFTPD was an easy choice over wu-ftpd used by many other hosts.

MySQL - MySQL is used in a wide range of database applications, including Web databases, e-commerce, data warehousing, logging and distributed applications. MySQL is also increasingly embedded in third-party software and technologies.
